retelling, 2012

multi-channel video/audio installation
Script: June Pak
Actor: Marlene Handrahan
Lighting: Rafael Ochoa
Camera 1: Rafael Ochoa
Camera 2: June Pak
Underwater camera: Michael Vass
Editing: June Pak

A Caucasian woman appears on the screen and narrates her personal stories and identity as a person born in Korea. She narrates sentences that are short but revealing. Her personal stories raise a question of a conflict between her racial appearance and her declared ethnic identity. However, the truthfulness of her statements remains unknown.
